a little about me..

Born and raised in Guildford, Surrey, I have lived across Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire as an adult.
Leaving school at 16, I began my working life cold calling for a national double glazing company. The rules wew simple, make over 100 calls a day and book appointments for the sales reps to visit, quoting on anything from windows to a conservatory. We would work off pink A4 books, which contained just telephone numbers. We didn't have any other information other than a number. We had 5-10 seconds to grab they're attention, with the end goal being an appointment (a raw lead). I would eventually move on to the door canvassing team, the same principle however instead of calling we would knock doors (I learnt pretty quickly to carry treats for dogs). If you get the dog on side, you were far more likely to get a lead!
For the next 14 years, I worked predominantly in call centres on the South Coast, working on campaigns for organisations such as lovefilm.com and 118 118.
In 2017, I fell into the water hygiene industry by accident. I took a role which was an office based tele marketing position. A conversation at the coffee machine with the HR Manager diverted me into the operational side of the business. Due to a lack of engineers volunteering to work weekends, I found myself offering a helping hand on Saturdays and Sundays cleaning cold water storage tanks. It was the change of environment I craved, and from 2017 to 2024 I have been getting my hands dirty on site.
An impromptu, last minute holiday last year led me to meeting my now wife. A desperate need for a break away from servicing TMVs made me book a flight to Thailand. Just over a year later, we are both married and planning a future together in the UK.
An exceptionally poor experience with a recruiter led me to create JMH. It reinforced my long held belief the industry has become cold, greedy and in some cases, dishonest. JMH was born to bring transparency into recruitment.
